Game Payment Technology (GPT) – the joint venture formed by bacta and Polar Moment to provide an easy-to-use alternative to cash payments for amusements and fruit machines – continues to progress at Brighton Palace Pier.
The Game Payment app has seen successful use since mid-May on 77 machines in the pier’s Dome arcade. All 77 of these machines have been played using the cashless gaming app.

It’s this close working relationship with Brighton Palace Pier that has helped the app to evolve and continue to meet changing consumer needs. Accordingly, a new release of the Game Payment app went live on 20th July 2021.
The latest version makes management of the Brighton wallet easier, speeding player registration by reducing the number of buttons that must be pressed. Players will also now be able to scan a QR code in order to connect to a machine. This means you won’t need to have Bluetooth enabled on your device to search for nearby GP-enabled machines.
Another new feature is QuickPay. This enables players to repeat their last payment for an amusement machine with the press of a single button, without the need to re-scan or connect.
The Brighton and GPT team are also looking at extending the use of Game Payment to other areas on the pier, and to increase awareness of the app, encouraging players to download the app before their visit.
